All-Pak works with manufacturers of healthcare products by providing them with packaging products, services, and experience that contribute to their operating efficiency and financial stability.
PRODUCTS
All-Pak’s extensive line of rigid packaging products consists of a comprehensive line of plastic, glass, and metal containers and closures. Ranging from 1 cc vials to 55 gallon drums, All-Pak can provide packaging solutions for most any need in the healthcare industry. We are partnered with many of the world’s largest manufacturers of packaging components, and, as one of the world’s largest rigid packaging distributors, we bring them all together “under one roof.”
EXPERIENCE
When filing with the Food and Drug Administration, the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act mandates the need for adequate information related to packaging materials. It states that a drug is deemed to be adulterated "if its container is composed, in whole or in part, of any poisonous or deleterious substance which may render the contents injurious to health...." In addition, it states that a drug is considered misbranded if there are packaging omissions. Also, a full description of the methods used in, and the facilities and controls used for, the packaging of drugs is required.
All-Pak has been providing containers and closures to manufacturers of healthcare products for over 25 years. We are acutely familiar with the FDA guidelines established for NDAs (new drug applications), INDs (investigational new drugs), and ANDAs (abbreviated new drug applications) as well as any additional materials required to file with the FDA.
All-Pak is not only experienced in the supply of packging to pharmaceutical companies, we also are very familiar with the FDA guidelines and application process.
From start to finish, All-Pak will work with you to get your product smoothly to market.
SERVICES
In addition to our familiarity with FDA guidelines, we also offer a variety of third party compatibility tests for pharmaceuticals. As an example, light protection is typically provided by an opaque or amber-colored container or by an opaque secondary packaging component, i.e. -- cartons or overwrap. The USP (United States Pharmacopeia) test for light transmission (USP <661>) is an accepted standard for evaluating the light transmission properties of a container. All-Pak can test for and recommend measures to provide light protection for these drug products. This could avoid a situation in which solid and liquid-based oral drug products are exposed to light during storage due to the opaque secondary packaging component being removed by someone unfamiliar with the USP monograph recommendation.
INNOVATION
All-Pak is the world’s exclusive distributor of an innovative technology called MLx. MLx technology provides a packaging system made of multiple materials to optimize and tune barrier properties for the replacement of glass vials and syringes. The system is in use in the diagnostics market and in testing in the parenterals market. MLx packaging is shatter resistant and allows for automated handling of vials to improve productivity and line throughput.

MLx is tomorrow's technology for today's pharmaceutical packaging needs.
MLx is manufactured a proprietary process that creates a two material package that is an safe alternative to Type I Glass. This new innovation offers exceptionally low permeability, high transparency, clarity, chemical resistance and ease of processing.
This package reduces the potential risks associated with glass packaging by reducing possible exposure to harmful cytotoxins and pathogens. Because MLx weighs less than glass, this product leads to a cost savings for freight and packaging costs.
